What they look like in Minecraft (shapeshifters, may vary. alot) Atack Roll: 15 Defence Roll: 15 Health Points: 30 Other: Always attacks first at night, Never attacks first Daytime. Corpse is minable for super rare Obsidian. Threat Level: Run away! Nightcrawlers are the definative Horrors of the night. Dormant in the daytime, they will still defend themselves in the light of day. The shapeshifting creatures stalk the dark hours, leaving their taint in their wake and consuming land and structures to add to their Biomass. Their origin is unknown to all but the eldest sages, who guard the secret closely. Some more details,
nightcrawlers have the ability to copy any structure they see along with any animal they see (that includes any human)
Subspecies; Nightcrawler golem
A humongous nightcrawler in a humanoid shape,
28 att roll
20 def roll
50 hp
Resistance to any metal it absorbers
if a 1 is rolled by the attacker their weapon is absorbed and shot back at them for their max roll 2+ damage unless blocked by an ally

you might want to rethink that attack and defence roll, you would need a whole leigon of players to take it down

OK ignore the golem i thought about it and decided that it was way too unbalanced,
But since then I've made alot more types of nightcrawlers, i made them alot more recognizable meaning they aren't just 3 to 2 blocks of obsidian sticking out of the ground
Now they have all different shapes and sizes for example i made a flying nightcrawler that will spot you within a given radius and drop taint on wherever you go for a certain amount of time (this is of course up to you if you are spotted or not)
thus giving you further reason to stay away from nightcrawler camps
Nightcrawlers can also developer blue eyes instead of the red eyes they usually have
these will often be very powerful and will guard places that are vital to nightcrawlers
and I've made it alittle more balance in terms of players vs nightcrawlers
you can now mine taint for nightcrawler skin a useful material to make clothing out of
and due to recent complaints I've toned down on the infection of structures it now takes many nights to completely infect a structure meaning nightcrawlers infect living materials like grass or trees faster then materials like wood planks or stone
That about covers the update on nightcrawlers

=An idea to fix a few remaining problems with nightcrawlers=
Creating nightcrawlers or building bases could cost biomass you could earn biomass by infecting land trees would give more biomass then simply infecting any normal piece of land
biomass can be spent on the following things:
creating or destroying bases,
and creating new nightcrawlers
Biomass would be handed out 2 BM (biomass) per block 5 BM per tree
-1 BM for infecting part of a base
-300 BM for building a nightcrawler (may vary depending on what you put on it)
this should give more reason for the destruction of land besides "its just something they do" but also lengthening the time it takes to build or infect a structure,
So good idea or bad idea?

hi i got an idea for a Nightcrawler subrace. The Shadowcrawler there building style and tainting is more vines and plant like something like a big bioebase and less black slime like. like they get biomass by building vins and roots and the land around the roots and vines is dying and becomes sand and thus they gain biomass and instead of being able to make big guardians the can make acid, microwave, and hydro towers. they got lesser att and def. they cannot move but they are extremely cheap this is how i think the acid tower shot look like ] and this is the stats fore them attack roll 7 deafens roll 7 health points 8 range 7 blocks if you are a hostile and inside their range then tower will attack you other the tower gives 1 bonus damage for every time it attacks even if you roll a higher deafens threat level moderate i think cost 600 biomass and 1 raw iron and sorry for my bad English and grammar
